Preto e branco – Black and White

Para este conjunto a minha ideia principal foi o conforto. Combinei as leggings pretas (mais confortável não há) com uma camisa-túnica branca; para tornar o conjunto mais interessante visualmente, adicionei um colete sem costas e um cinto com várias correias na frente. O tema dos acessórios é o cristal… Os brincos foram oferecidos por uma amiga no ano passado e são de uma marca de cristais muito conhecida. O pingente foi comprado no eBay para condizer com os brincos.

For this outfit the first thing that came to mind was comfort; I picked up some black leggings and a white tunic shirt; to add visual interest to the outfit I chose a backless vest and the multi-strap belt. The remaining accessories theme is the crystals… The earrings were a birthday gift from last year and they are from a very well known and established crystal brand. I purchased the necklace from eBay to match it with the earrings.

Lá fora parece Verão – It feels like summer outside

Hoje quando acordei espreitei pela janela e o que vi e senti foi como fosse um dia quente de verão… Senti a necessidade de reflectir i que senti no que ia vestir e daí este conjunto. A inspiração não veio somente do tempo solarengo e quente; no blog da Mardel ela mostra um conjunto muito bem pensado em tons de azul-marinho vermelho e branco em que combinou bijutaria com um lenço para um toque final muito original. Resolvi tentar o mesmo enrolando a minha nova écharpe num colar de inspiração étnica, castanho com salpicos de dourado.
Outra coisa: engoli o que disse ontem e não estou a usar collants... Simplesmente não ficam bem com as botas sandália.

When I woke up today I opened my bedroom window and what I saw and felt reminded me of a hot summer day… I felt the need to reflect that on what I was going to wear and I came up with this outfit. The inspiration was not just the warm and sunny weather: at Mardel’s blog she presents a very well thought out outfit in navy blue, red and white and for a final touch she combined jewelry and a scarf. For this outfit I combined an ethnic style necklace with my new scarf, wrapping it around the necklace.
Vicki: I ate my words from yesterday and wore no pantyhose today... they don't look good with these sandal boots, I'm afraid.

New Rule!

Never lettum see you sweat! I know this is hard for most people, but seriously - plan ahead, make sure you plan for your event to start about 30 minutes before it starts, this way you aren't running around crazy when your guests arrive. (and some will arrive early_



And if something doesn't go right, your guests will never know. So don't point it out.



Someone once told me, if you point out a flaw in something, you MUST fix it.



Don't draw attention.

De volta ao escritório - Back to the Office

A semana passada foi duríssima e ainda estou a recuperar do cansaço e stress de um curso intensivo. Para cúmulo uma enxaqueca e um monte de trabalho acumulado à minha espera no escritório… Estrear roupa ou acessórios novos é sempre uma forma de me animar.

Last week was very hard on me and I’m still recovering from the intensive certification course that I attended in Lisbon. I’m also feeling severe headaches (migraines) and the pile of work waiting for me at the office didn’t help at all. One thing that always cheers me up is wearing something new for the first time.

- Vestido império de jersey cinzento acastanhado (aquela cor que ninguém consegue definir muito bem, talvez se possa chamar cor de cogumelo?)
- Collants jacquard cor de pele (ainda não consigo deixar os collants, não antes de bronzear as pernas de alguma forma)

- Bolsa grande castanho mel
- Botins “peep-toe” com atacadores e abertos no calcanhar

- Jacquard nude pantyhose (I still can’t let go of pantyhose, not until I get some tanning on my legs)

Presentes de Aniversário - Birthday Gifts

Algumas das prendas que recebi de familiares e amigos, espero que gostem! O meu Aniversário foi no dia 24 de Abril e como estive a semana passada num curso de certificação (cujo exame escrito será na 2ª feira), só agora consegui ter algum tempo para mostrar algumas prendinhas… Entretanto, para quem segue o meu blogue de costura, o Couture et Tricot, não tenho nada a reportar, a não ser que devido a ter recebido uma gabardina na cor do tecido que planeava usar para este casaco, vou então usar outro tecido de cor diferente, talvez azul-marinho, mantendo os botões de latão. Creio que isto vai evidenciar o estilo militar do casaco.

These are some of the gifts received from friends and family, hope you like them. My Birthday was on the 24th of April but since I had to attend to a certification course last week (I’ll take the written exam on Monday so wish me luck), I had no time for blogging or sewing during that time. For those who follow my sewing blog Couture et Tricot, I have nothing to report but the fact that I’ll be using another fabric for my next project (because I just got a trench coat that is of the same color). I am planning on using a navy blue fabric instead of the sand colored fabric and keeping the brass ball buttons. I think it will enhance the military vibe on this coat.
