These miniature Korbel favors we saw on EleGALA are such a cute idea for your guests at your wedding to take home!

Why not keep the celebrating going even after its all over?!?

wull... hello, distractions!

my friend, Distraction, comes by every once in awhile ( uninvited of coarse ) and usually stays way too long! It's like he can sense i'm waiting on a couple things to arrive before i can finish up some projects, so he spins me around like a child, almost dizzy from all the randomness!!

Sometimes you have to let your head fall back and enjoy the ride, i guess!! LOL

like picking up an old project and playing with it again...

deciding on lot's of new hobbies and then needing to educate yourself on them...

teaching yourself how to cross stitch...

shopping for super cute fabric...

and finally, figuring out the mystery of my exercise/ weight loss dilemma ( and yes, i realize this is no Nancy Drew novel! hahaha ) turns out my lady friend also showed up for a visit! pesky drop ins!! :P

Thanks for all the helpful advice, i learned a ton and i just kept at it until i moved through that damn stall!!! :)

However, this week... i better finish something stat or i may start to get a bit pissy!! ;)

Stop and Breathe

I am crazy.

You all probably know this already. I love working, I can't get enough. I can't sit still, just ask Saundra or my sister.

I have had two babies and went to work 2 weeks after their birth days. I know, it's nuts. But sometimes you need a reminder as to why you should slow down, and literally stop and smell the roses.

Or the cake baking, or the cookies, or stop and smell the cinnamon rolls. Either way, stop. Breathe.

For me, stopping is to play "cah cahs" (that's car cars in non-Gabriel) he reminds me how much life there is to love.

This is his face when I told him we were going to Zoo. The Zoo...

Can you remember a time when you got THAT excited about going somewhere. That face (that mischievous face) reminds me to love life, and not just go through the motions daily, and take in each moment.

So as you are going through each day, remember to stop and enjoy the moments, savior that coffee, that "I love you" when you finish a phone call with your sweetie.

KB Kakes new Location

From Click and Order to Brick and Mortar! (Clever, eh?) Just I just came up with that... as I was typing! Sometimes I impress myself with my clever'ness.

I digress.

I am so thrilled that our dear friends over at KB Kakes will very soon have an All-You-Eat Kake Truffle Location!

Okay, so they aren't going to have an AYCE Truffle Bar, that was only a dream, BUT they are going to have a new location, and bakery, and coffee shop!

I can't wait!

I'll update you as more information becomes available on the location and when the Grand Opening Party is going to be!

Outdoor Inspired Centerpieces

Flowers are one of my favorite parts of weddings, they are just so absolutely gorgeous! Some of the centerpieces that people display at their tables are so amazing-sometimes it's hard not to grab them and run!

These nature-inspired centerpieces we found on Better Home & Gardens that were too gorgeous not to share!

Can you believe these are vegetables?!?

What a great idea for something as simple as a brown paper bag! This beats the lunch I used to put in mine!

What do you guys think about these arrangements?

Hot Chocolate Bar

Brrr....there's a chill in the air that just has to remind you it's Winter. I know whenever I get super cold there's nothing like a fireplace, a blanket to snuggle with on the couch, and a warm glass of hot chocolate to make everything right again!

Winter weddings can be chilly so why not warm your guests up with this fantastical hot chocolate bar featured on Martha Stewart Weddings?!?

Marshmallows, cinnamon, peppermint, oh my! There's no end to the things you can add to your hot chocolate bar!

Doesn't this just make you all warm and fuzzy inside??

crossing my fingers!

One of the things i swore i was going to do this 2012 was to start up my running program again! Last year went great... until i thought i was 18 again and ended up getting shin splints so bad i thought i'd vomit first, then die.

This time i came in with a Jeff Galloway plan and things have been successful, i was even loosing some lovely Christmas flub that i'd acquired... and then, 4 days ago everything just stopped! not the running and the reasonable food intake ( which is minus booze... lame'o )... but, the weight loss??? WTH??

Now, i'm too depressed to even brush my gritty teeth ( that may be a tad dramatic, but you get the idea! )... all, i could even think to sew this week was a flippin { Hope } block.

if you all have any words of wisdom... today would be the day i'd really lOVE to hear them! sigh.... crossing my fingers this will end soon!!!  ;(

Cake Inspirations

During the ceremony everyone is focused on the bride and groom, and of course, the bride's dress.

But when it's time for the reception, the focal point is undeniably the cake. Which makes it all the harder to wait to eat it!

These are some gorgeous wedding cake inspirations from Better Home & Gardens made by Delicately Delicious Bakery that we just had to share!

So elegant!

How awesometastic are these floral cake toppers?!?

Wedding Gift for Mom

Wedding day is a bride's big day-the day she's dreamed about since she was a little girl. But the bride is not the only one who it's a big day for.

From the time her daughter is a little girl, a mother dreams of the day she will help her daughter into her wedding gown, and the man who will stand beside her. A mother teaches her son to be the perfect man, so that she can one day watch him marry the perfect woman.

While the wedding day is filled with happiness and laughter, there are also those tears of joy that flow as well-trust me, I've done a few of these. These handkerchiefs from Etsy are such thoughtful, adorable gifts for a bride to give to her mother and/or mother-in-law to keep their eyes dry during the day.

How sweet are these?? I'm not sure how I'm going to keep it together when Gabriel or Zachary are walking down the aisle, I already cry at every Mother Son Dance!

Have any of you moms ever gotten anything special from your bride or groom on their wedding day?

Personal Bridesmaids Gifts

We talk a lot about remembering the people involved in your wedding-and that's because it's so important to recognize the people who have been there for you. Some of the most important people to the bride during the wedding process are her bridesmaids, which is why it's so nice to give them something special so they know just how much she appreciates everything they've done!

How amazing are these personal bridesmaids gift bags we saw on the Wedding Bee??

All the essentials for the big day!

These shoes are great for getting ready together on the big day or dancing the night away in when the ceremony is over!

How amazing are these bridesmaids bags? Have you guys ever gotten anything extra special for being in someone's big day??

Popcorn Bar

Everyone always thinks of what dessert they want to serve at their wedding. Do you want cake? Or cupcakes? Or a desert bar? Decisions, decisions....

But did you ever think of incorporating something salty instead of only things sweet? (I know, this question may be a bit to process)

Don't answer until you check out this totally awesometastic popcorn bar we saw on The Party Dress.

Ok, so now what do you think?? Is this awesome or what?!?

What’s In a Hebrew Name?

Last week, I signed up for a Beginning Modern Hebrew course offered locally by HaDavar Messianic Ministries. The first meeting was devoted to becoming familiar with the Hebrew letters, different scripts, and some basic conversational phrases. We students had to introduce ourselves to each other in Hebrew, and the instructor Racheli Morris made a point of asking who had a “Hebrew name” (e.g., Mary, Judith), using that as a learning tool for pronunciation it seems. Later, she talked to us about her Jewish background and her experience as a teacher in Israel and the United States. She mentioned how inspired she had been throughout her life by the life of Jacob’s wife Rachel in the Bible. It was as if she saw herself having a special connection with her namesake much in the way Roman Catholics have with their nameday saints.

Sitting there in class, something occurred to me. Technically, I have a “Hebrew name.” My middle name is “Annette,” a variant of “Hannah” (i.e., “grace”). I admire many women in the Bible and Apocrypha (e.g., Tamar the first, Rahab, Abigail, Susannah), but it hadn’t occurred to me that, since a child, I’ve especially admired Samuel’s mother Hannah (I Samuel 1). Childless in a culture that valued women primarily by their childbearing capabilities, she was living in a polygynous marriage with a rival who knew how to hit where it hurt most. She knew that the solution to her problem was not “being content in the Lord,” but having a child. She ignored her husband Elkanah, who had tried to tell her to get her priorities straight. She put up a stunning defense against Eli, a priest at Shiloh, who had attacked her character. She knew what she wanted and that it wasn’t wrong it want it. And when she petitioned the Lord for it, He granted it to her.

I don’t believe there’s some sort of spiritual connection between Hannah in the Bible and me, not any more than I believe that there’s one between Saint Anne, the reputed mother of the Virgin Mary, and me. However, now I do think of my name and remember Hannah’s story and its important lesson: God can give you your heart’s desire, even when those in authority wish to think you selfish, unreasonable, and even morally wrong.

Crush Coins!!

AMAZING!!! Robert Kaufman's new Yarn-Dyed Essex Linen fabrics are too unreal to believe! as you all know i'm a bit of a whipped puppy for their Essex Linen... but, these new fabrics are so stinking soft... i could cry!! Seriously, i'm totally not messing with you all!! LOL

i decided it was a "must use" in a Project Linus quilt, so... here's number 2!! I used 2 charm pack of Anna Maria Horner's Innocent Crush fabric line ( which is one of my all time fav's ) to make my coins and presto!! a super soft, vibrant quilt that i hope will be greatly loved!!

and since i've been such a good girl... i treated myself to a few little treats! OOohh... the possibilities! hehehe...

i hope you all having a blast this week! my boys finally went back to school... so, this mama is in one hell of a good mood!! LOL

Sparklers for your wedding

New Years was a week or so ago, but don't put away those sparklers just yet!

There is a use for them besides just celebrating the arrival of the new year! Incorporating sparklers into weddings is something we just love!

And they make for some seriously fun pictures!
