Taking Missy to the vet – A levar a Missy ao veterinário

My outfit this morning; this is another black outfit, but I added a little splash of red this time (scarf and nail polish). I made the leggings and the frilled top that I’m wearing.
it’s Missy’s second appointment to the vet and she’s not happy to go out in a cage.

Absence of color – Ausência de cor

It was really windy, so forgive the messy hair… I am aware that this outfit is not everybody’s cup of tea, but I really love this style and I felt great in it. I’ve own these boots since my twenties… They are some sort of talisman for me; they were one of the first designer pieces that I’ve bought.
Most of you already know that I’ve made the gray cloak and the black leggings and sweater (sewing details here and here, respectively).

{portland pairs} quilt inspiration thru photography

this week i had a brainstorming session with my dear friend Brooke! I love the way she uses colors in her designs and wanted a partner in crime with me next year while i explore a new skill... in the end, we started a new group with a simple concept. using photography at your muse to create quilt art.

our hope is that we'll be able to explore color and structure of fabric art by utilizing a photo. the plan is that we will both agree on one photo... give ourselves a small timeline, and then reveal. i think it's going to more than interesting to see how each person can look at the same photo and be inspired to create piece of art through fabric that ( most likely ) will look quite different but completely unique! my personal goal next year is to stretch my quilting skills by embracing a more improv stylizing with color! wanta play with us?? we'd love to have you... check out out the new Flickr group for an amazing amount of collect photo's!!

This sums up our mission!

...in a never-ending search for inspiration, we're hoping to compile a group of photos that YOU would love to see interpreted into quilts.. your photos are the starting point (and hopefully you can be inspired, too!) .

please post photos {yours, or anyone else's as long as you give credit where credit is due and possible} of anything that could be interpreted into a quilt block, a mini quilt, or even a full quilt! they can be photos of nature, art, skylines & buildings, home items - anything that intrigues you!

also, feel free to post alongside : which fabrics you would use to translate the look and feel of the photo. all ideas are welcome!

Hope to see you there!!

One dress, two outfits – Um vestido, dois coordenados

I wore the first outfit at home when I had some friends over two weekends ago. The last pictures show today’s outfit as I got home from the office (I came home late and really tired; I’ve been swamped with work and it won’t slow down until my Christmas break). The jacket is real shearling and it’s second-hand, bought online. The dress was made by me and those interested can find the sewing details here.
xoxo

My take on the aviator jacket trend - Tendência: blusão à aviador

I’ve own this jacket for more than two years, and I’ve been a fan of this style before the trend came out with the Burberry Prorsum Fall10 show. This one is made of leather and synthetic fur on the inside. I also own a jacket made of real shearling that I bought second-hand online.
Thank you all for all for visiting and commenting! A big welcome to the new followers!
