Black&Rust and a new ring - Preto&cor-de-ferrugem e um novo anel

This is what I'm wearing today as I left home in the morning; The OTK boots are new and very comfy, in spite of the stiletto heel. I also got this beautiful ring (scroll down) in the mail that I ordered online. Hope you all are having a great day!

Aqui têm o conjunto que estou a usar hoje, fotos tiradas ao sair de casa de manhã; as botas OTK ("Over The Knee") são novas e apesar do salto "agulha", são muito confortáveis. Hoje também recebi no correio este lindo anel (mais abaixo) que encomendei online. Espero que estejam a ter um óptimo dia!

now, i have had my eye on this girl ever since seeing her courage to tackle the double wedding ring pattern! you just have to take her more seriously after defeating such a fierce pattern, right! then you add in her ability to meddle in all things craft ( and do it well... ) and shoot, you've got another blog to read! miss Kaelin from the plaid scottie has me very interested in seeing where she's going this next year in crafts! ya see what i mean... ;)

Yeti style - Estilo Yeti

I didn’t actually wear the long fur coat to the office, since today the weather is not cold enough (we do have cold weather where I live, but not that often; today the weather is rainy and the temperature is 55F), but I wanted to show you guys how the coat looks on me. I made this coat (sewing details are posted here, if you care to take a peek in) thinking of my snowboard vacations in the mountains, so let’s pretend I’m in the Swiss Alps, lol. I really love this outfit, the very first of 2011 and one of my favorites already. The last couple of pictures show today’s outfit, with no coat on. The intarsia hooded vest was a Christmas gift from my mother-in-law. The pictures didn’t came out very good because it was rainy and dark outside and I had to use the machine’s flashlight indoors, which caused that nasty outline shadow. Happy New Year to all!

Não cheguei a usar o casaco de pelo hoje, pois não está frio suficiente para um casaco destes (aqui é raro o tempo estar mesmo frio, tipo abaixo de zero, mas às vezes acontece; não hoje, que está chuvoso e por isso as temperaturas rondam os 13 graus), mas queria mostra-vos como fica vestido. Fiz este casaco (os detalhes de costura estão publicados aqui, se quiserem espreitar) a pensar nas minhas férias na neve, por isso imaginem por um momento que estou nos Alpes Suíços, hehehe. Gosto mesmo muito deste conjunto, o primeiro que publico em 2011 e já um dos meus favoritos. As últimas fotos mostram o que realmente levei vestido, o conjunto sem o casaco. O colete com capucho foi um presente de natal da minha sogra. As fotos não saíram nada de especial, pois o dia estava escuro e tive de usar o flash da máquina, o que causou algumas sombras indesejadas. Feliz Ano Novo a todos(as)!

B.r.a.v.o.... Miss Pat!

can i just say firstly.... Happy New Year! and secondly... Thank YOU all for your kind words towards my very soon to be painful endeavor with the running! LOL I have taken all of your fantastic ideas and shown them to the boss ( my hubby ) which has secured a little supportive shopping trip!! perfection! hehe...

now, can i also say B.r.a.v.o!!... to miss Pat Bravo herself, for her yummy Modern Affair! I knew i was going to love this quilt... not that i knew how it would come together or anything, but i loved her pattern/colors too much not to end up in deep lOVE!

so... here she is in all here glory!! I really wanted to showcase how a simple design with a few extra touches ( patchwork binding & multi-kissed color quilting ) could bring a quilt together without a ton of business... i think it worked!

and you all better believe i have picked up some serious Stud fabric ( and by stud, i mean Mr. Ty Pennington's ) yum!!... i don't know what is hotter..??? Him or his new line??? haha!! my newest sponsor Marmalade Fabrics not only has the entire line, but very helpfully pulls the coordinating Kona Cottons to support each colorway! how fantastic is THAT??? and they are perfect match!! clever, clever!

OOOhh... and looky-look what's now on my design board!! E C H I N O!!... this is going to be such a hard quilt for me to remove from my wall!!! i just want to stare at all of those FABulous prints and i'm just sure once they are quilted, my boys will spill some yucky/ sticky goo on it and i'll cry thick tears! ;)

lastly, i was sooOOOoo touched to see this card arrive in the mail!! Kudos to US!! in 2010 we did make a difference!! Such an amazing achievement!! 2011 is going to seriously rock... i can just tell... and you can trust me on this too!! promise! LOL

Holiday Blues

Merry Christmas, everyone! I’ve gotten off to a bad start. For Christmas, I caught a flu bug going around that then weakened be more a cold, and just when I thought I was better, the cold reappeared for New Year’s Eve. Maybe it’s the cold weather. Maybe it’s the let-down after weeks of ongoing stress (primarily work). At any rate, I feel a bit unprepared for beginning 2011 with a fresh start. It sort of took me by surprised…between midnight coughing fits. I hope you, dear reader, fared better, and after partying all last night, still remember your resolutions. Happy New Year!
