as most of you know... my husband murdered my dream of the ( life aquatic ) quilt because of his dislike of orange... so may i introduce the ( Swiss Army ) quilt... I based it off of a watch i bought for him in our early years of dating ;) It's growing on me!

busy, busy bee!

I have been a busy, busy bee yesterday! I have a couple quilts that I'm super excited about making... so I thought I better bust out my bee blocks!

Ashley ( filminthefridge ) was up first and she was asking for some yummy drunk love blocks by Denyse Schmidt!

Then Jessica's ( twinfibers )... she also wanted a Drunk Love block... however, she wanted her's tonal! This was a great idea!! ;)

and because I'm naughty... I finished Corey's ( little miss shabby ) block from March!... her request was a new block for me... a half square triangle block!

OOooohh yeah... Nova ( a cuppa and a catch up ) sent the most fabulous surprise to Kerri and myself as a thank you for our work on The Pillow Talk Swap... and she even tied them up with yarn of our signature colors... she it truly one clever duck!! Thanks Nova... you are soooo thoughtful!! :)

and then I just couldn't help myself... I have to show you this blasphemy!!! Can you believe my husband dared to put his new tool in my land??? He's playing with his own life sometimes!! haha

a new day!!

Today was full of new things for me! I tried hexies for my { Urban } HOME Goods - a modern swap partner and they were super easy ( so far! ) haha...

I finished an embroidery for Jessica that had a sweet appliqued alphabet theme to it for her little boy!

I added a new hoop to my little sewing wall that brought out the sci-fi junkie in me!

I went to my local Ikea ( i know... not a new thing ) and bought a new picture for my never ending bedroom makeover... which i love, since it added much needed drama!

I also received a fabulous stash of Anna Maria Horner fabric for new pillows to match my bedroom!!

but the best new today... was a friend! It was wonderful putting a voice to a talented quilter ( Julie... at Jaybird quilts ) and finding out that I'm not the only person with a dry sense of humor!!! Check out her blog... she's fab and you'll love her goodies!! ;)

April Fools!

So, I've always wanted to do a super fun April Fools joke... but I never have. Or what I thought in my head, never materialized to what I thought was really that amazing!

Soooooooooooo....when I mentioned what I wanted to do to my competition for April Fools, everyone said I had to do it! MUST. HAVE. TO.

So we did.

I cannot thank Shena enough for making our "home video" look amazing!!!

Fun Centerpiece!

I was checking out some of my favorite blogs, and I found this! Thanks to Unique Designs, Event Diva's,  and Posh Pastry.

How fun is this, it's a super chic vase with an awesome lamp shade! You could even do a smaller version for a cocktail table!
